About the Role: The Project Engineer/Manager will lead ship repair and refit projects at various ports in India, overseeing marine engineering systems, project execution, and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute turnkey ship repair and refit projects at ports and shipyards.
- Collaborate with defence clients to ensure quality standards are met.
- Oversee project requirements, vendor management, and subcontractor coordination.
- Prepare budgets, estimates, and manage costing with OEMs and subcontractors.
- Supervise marine engineering systems (engines, gearboxes, HVAC, pipelines).
- Handle tender processes, documentation (RFPs, RFQs, SOWs, etc.), and defense protocols.
- Negotiate scopes of work and ensure seamless communication among stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, update reports, and resolve challenges efficiently.
- Plan materials, spares, manpower, and logistics to meet project requirements.
- Lead and motivate the project team while maintaining strong client relationships.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma/B.Tech/BE in Mechanical, Industrial, or Marine Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, or similar roles.
- Retired professionals from Indian Navy (ERA ranks), Coast Guard, or equivalent Merchant Navy positions are welcome.
- Proficiency in marine engineering systems, tendering processes, and defense protocols.
