About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer/Manager with expertise in electrical systems for ship repair and refit projects. The role involves managing turnkey projects, working with defence clients, and ensuring high-quality execution across multiple ports in India.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute ship repair/refit projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
- Manage and coordinate with defence clients, OEMs, subcontractors, and team members.
- Oversee marine electrical systems, including alternators, motors, control panels, starters, navigation, and communication equipment.
- Prepare project budgets, estimations, and maintain detailed progress updates.
- Understand and manage tender processes, RFPs, RFQs, and related documentation.
- Handle negotiations and define scopes of work for subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Ensure proper resource allocation, vendor management, and streamlined operations.
- Prepare reports, attend meetings, and provide status updates to customers and management.
- Identify potential challenges, troubleshoot issues, and escalate concerns proactively.
- Plan and manage spares, consumables, and logistics for efficient project execution.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, team members, and representatives.
- Support management with tendering, cost estimation, and hiring processes as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma/B. Tech/BE in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience in ship repair or shipbuilding.
- Retired professionals from the Indian Navy (SES/Electrical), Coast Guard, or Merchant Navy (equivalent roles) are encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems and defence protocols.
