About the Role: Highly skilled Engineering Supervisor to oversee the overhaul of critical shipboard engineering equipment, utilizing hands-on tools, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise overhaul of engineering equipment (engines, gearboxes, propulsion systems, steering systems, compressors, pumps).
- Review and interpret engineering drawings and use precision tools (vernier callipers, dial gauge, micrometre) to measure tolerances and ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with defence personnel, leveraging experience with Navy or Coast Guard for smooth operations.
- Manage and coordinate tasks with OEMs, contractors, and onboard teams during refits.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, work completion certificates, and secure approvals/signatures from ship staff, Class surveyors, and QA teams.
- Flexible to travel to various locations during refits as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- ITI Mechanical, Diploma holder, or higher (B .Tech preferred but not mandatory).
- Minimum 10 years of experience, with preference for candidates with Defence sector (Navy/Coast Guard) experience.
Skills Required:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to manage and coordinate with diverse stakeholders in challenging environments.
- Attention to detail in inspections and documentation.
