About the Role: The Electrical Engineer will lead electrical repair and maintenance activities in the ship repair industry. The ideal candidate will have expertise in power electrical and control systems, and troubleshooting shipboard equipment. This leadership role requires strong technical and coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in switchboards, control panels, and control systems.
  • Repair and maintain motors, starters, generators, steering systems, CPPs, cranes, and other onboard equipment.
  • Read and interpret panel/equipment electrical drawings to identify and resolve faults.
  • Coordinate with electricians, OEMs, and ship staff to ensure smooth execution of repair tasks.
  • Prepare inspection reports, repair documentation, and provide regular job status updates.
  • Supervise and guide repair teams, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Handle repairs of VFDs and soft starters (preferred).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in ship repair with expertise in power electrical and control systems.
  • Proven track record of managing and troubleshooting shipboard electrical systems.
  • Ability to draft detailed inspection reports and manage repair documentation.

Skills Required:

  • Strong technical knowledge of shipboard electrical systems and control systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical equipment, including motors, switchboards, and control panels.
  • Leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder coordination.
  • Familiarity with VFDs and soft starters is an added advantage.
